SIAM CSE19 Minisymposium on “Advances in Analyzing Floating-point Errors in Computational Science”
by Pierre Blanchard, Nick Higham, and Theo Mary
Last February the SIAM Computational Science and Engineering (CSE19) conference took place in Spokane, WA, USA. We organized a two-part minisymposium on recent Advances in Analyzing Floating-point Errors in Computational Science (see links to part 1 and part 2). Below is the list of the eight talks along with the slides which we have made available.
- A New Approach to Probabilistic Rounding Error Analysis by Theo Mary, University of Manchester
- Probabilistic Error Analysis for Inner Products by Ilse Ipsen, North Carolina State University
- Stochastic Analysis and Correction of Floating Point Errors in Monte Carlo Simulations by Oliver Sheridan-Methven, University of Oxford
- Probabilistic Numerics and Application to Roundoff Error by Jon Cockayne, University of Warwick
- A Class of Fast and Accurate Summation Algorithms by Pierre Blanchard, University of Manchester
- Approximate Arithmetic — A Hardware Perspective by George Constantinides, Imperial College London
- Automated Backward Error Analysis by Zhoulai Fu, IT University of Copenhagen
- Bayesian Analysis of the Effects of Lower Precision Arithmetic in Inverse Problems by Daniela Calvetti, Case Western Reserve University
